Demand for climate equipment surges in Moscow and the region
An unusually warm start to May triggered a clear spike in interest in climate equipment across Moscow and the surrounding area.
Figures from the Wildberries marketplace and the Avito Services platform show that sales of mini air conditioners in the first days of May rose by more than double compared with the same period last year. Over the same timeframe, demand for split systems increased by 56%, while across January to May as a whole it climbed by more than double.
Fans, window films and air purifiers drive the fastest growth
The sharpest gains were seen in straightforward cooling options. Sales of fans and sun-protection window films were up by about 15%, and air purifiers doubled their sales.
Experts add that bigger-ticket purchases such as split systems are more often planned in advance. As a result, their growth tends to be steadier and is not driven solely by the weather.
Installation and servicing demand rises several-fold
As temperatures climbed, demand for installation and maintenance services also jumped. According to Avito Services, interest in installing air conditioners in Moscow and the region tripled in late April and early May compared with last year.
In the wider Moscow region, the increase was even stronger: servicing and repairs for cooling systems grew by four–five times, while cleaning and diagnostic checks became much more in demand.
