Xiaomi has added a new device to the international section of its website: the Smart Dehumidifier. It is a connected dehumidifier intended for use around the home. The company markets it as a high-capacity option for a bedroom, bathroom or storage cupboard, and also as a tool that can help dry laundry indoors.
Water removal and drainage options
Built-in tank capacity - 4.5 litres
According to Xiaomi, the dehumidifier can extract up to 22 litres of moisture per day. Water can be collected in two different ways. The primary method uses a built-in 4.5-litre tank, which the company estimates is enough for around 8 hours of standalone operation. Alternatively, you can attach an external drainage hose, allowing the unit to run continuously without needing to empty the reservoir by hand.
Modes, automation and noise level
The device offers three operating modes: Smart, Dry and Sleep. In Smart mode, a built-in humidity sensor automatically adjusts settings based on the room’s conditions. Sleep mode is designed to be quieter, reducing noise to 35.5 dB(A) so the dehumidifier does not disturb you at night.
Display, smart control, safety and design
A touch display shows the current humidity level and key operating information in real time. The Smart Dehumidifier can also be controlled remotely via the Xiaomi Home app, and it supports voice commands through Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa. Extra safety features include a child lock and automatic shut-off if the unit is tipped over.
The dehumidifier comes in white and is fitted with wheels to make it easier to move around the house. Its dimensions are 300 × 660 mm. Xiaomi has not yet announced a specific global release date. As for pricing, the Smart Dehumidifier is expected to be clearly more expensive than the Smart Dehumidifier Lite, which is sold in Germany for €180.
