Xiaomi unveils the Mijia central air conditioner in China

Xiaomi has introduced a Mijia central air conditioner in China. The unit uses a dual airflow system that separates cooling and heating streams, helping to spread temperature more evenly throughout a room.

Energy efficiency and heat-exchange upgrades

The model is positioned as highly energy-efficient, with an APF rating reaching 4.62. Its indoor unit features a three-row heat exchanger, while the outdoor unit uses a two-row copper heat exchanger. According to Xiaomi, this combination improves heat-transfer efficiency by roughly 15% compared with the previous model and helps the system cool down faster. The design is also intended for larger areas, thanks to a higher air-volume output.

Intelligent airflow based on human presence

A standout feature is intelligent air adjustment: the air conditioner can detect when someone is present and either direct the airflow, avoid blowing directly at people, or switch to an energy-saving mode when no one is in the room.

Smart home support and voice control

The device is integrated into Xiaomi’s smart home ecosystem, with support for voice control, remote start, and over-the-air updates.

The new model costs about $1,320 in China

In China, the price is around US$1,320. Xiaomi has not yet shared any details about a global release.
