Xiaomi has unveiled the Mijia Garment Steamer 2 on its Youpin platform. The crowdfunding campaign begins on 6 April. The regular price is 599 yuan (US$86), while the campaign offers an introductory price of 509 yuan (US$74).

Steam output and reach on the Mijia Garment Steamer 2

The Mijia Garment Steamer 2 delivers 120 g/min of steam to tackle stubborn creases by penetrating deep into fabric fibres. It uses a 500 kPa electromagnetic pump to produce a strong, consistent steam flow, and offers a spray range of up to 150 cm, making it suitable for vertical steaming and hard-to-reach areas.

Heating system and warm-up time

This steamer features a dual heating system, with separate boilers for the main unit and the iron. It generates dry steam at a microscopic concentration to help prevent garments from becoming damp. It heats up in just 65 seconds, reducing waiting time.

Fabric presets and temperature control

Xiaomi has included six dedicated ironing modes for common fabric types: cotton - 145°C, silk - 110°C, synthetic fibres - 125°C, linen - 160°C, blended fabrics - 115°C, and wool - 130°C. The device also uses NTC temperature control to keep heat stable and help avoid fabric damage.

Ironing panel, water tank, and ironing modes

The Mijia Garment Steamer 2 comes with an 8.75-inch ceramic-coated ironing panel. A visible water tank is said to be enough to iron up to 15 garments, depending on the fabric type. It supports both dry ironing for shaping and wet ironing for removing deeper creases.

Xiaomi states that the steamer provides 99.99% sterilisation and 100% mite removal.
