Key feature - AI-supported fingerprint unlocking
Huawei has expanded its smart device range with the Huawei M2 door lock, placing particular emphasis on security and long battery life.
Design, dimensions and power
The lock comes in a clean, understated design with a metal-finished body measuring 365 × 76.5 × 23 mm. It weighs 4.2 kg and runs on four AA batteries, which are rated to last for up to 18 months.
Huawei M2 AI fingerprint unlocking and access methods
Its standout capability is fingerprint unlocking with AI support. The system learns with each use, improving recognition accuracy over time. According to the stated figures, the lock opens in 0.5 seconds and the likelihood of an error is minimal. Alongside this, it supports NFC cards, numeric and temporary passcodes, “dummy” codes, plus unlocking via Huawei smartphones and Huawei smartwatches.
Security layers and resilience
Security is handled through multiple protection levels: an EAL5+-certified chip for data storage, an additional access-verification module, and a Class C mechanical cylinder. Even if the outer panel is damaged, the lock remains operational, and the system alerts the user when the battery charge is low.
